Some of the people who visit your store know exactly what they want. They’ll navigate straight to the pages of the products they are interested in, add them to their cart, and quickly check out.
Others take a more winding path. Many people — especially first-time visitors — don’t have a specific goal in mind when they land on your site. They’ll just click around to see what your store is about and what you have to offer in a general, unfocused sort of way.
You would be wise to provide an “All Products” collection page for such visitors. Even if they’re not ready to make a purchase right now, allowing them to easily access this information will help improve your odds of converting them into customers in the future.
In this guide, we’ll go over the following topics in order to help you make the most of your Shopify “All Products” collection page:

What Is the “All Products” Collection Page in Shopify?
An “All Products” collection page is exactly what it sounds like — this page will display every single product that you sell.
Just about every Shopify merchant should include this type of page on their site. “What products do you sell” is one of the most common questions visitors will have in mind when browsing your store, and an “All Products” collection page provides them with a clear answer.
It also makes sense to divide your product offerings into more specific collection pages, especially if you have a large catalog. For example, a shoe store might have separate collection pages for sneakers, boots, sandals, etc.
But no matter how many products you sell, you should also provide an option to view all of your products at once. Otherwise, visitors will need to jump back and forth through multiple collection pages to figure out exactly what you have to offer. The more steps it takes to discover products on your store, the more likely it is that visitors will just give up and check out one of your competitors instead.
Editing the “All Products” Collection Page in Shopify
By default, every Shopify store has a page that lists all of its products. You can find this page for your own store by adding “/collections/all” to the end of your site’s URL.
There’s no way to edit this automatically generated page. However, what you can do is create a custom collection, set it up so that every product in your catalog is always included, and give this new page the same “/collections/all” URL suffix. This will overwrite the automatically generated page and allow you to make any edits necessary.
To create a custom collection that covers all of your products, just follow these steps:
Log in to your Shopify store and select the “Products” option in the left sidebar of the control panel.
Select “Collections”.
Click on the “Create collection” button located near the top-right corner of your screen — this will take you to the settings page for your new collection.
Set the “Collection type” to “Smart”, then add a condition for including all products over $0 (this is how you can make sure that all of your products are included, even as you add new products in the future).
In the “Search engine listing” section of the settings, click on the “Edit” button, then enter “collections/all” into the “URL handle” field.
Once you’ve finished making your changes (there are also other aspects of the collection you can edit here, such as the title and description), click on the “Save” button to create your new collection.
The above instructions will allow you to edit the content on your “All Products” collection page. To customize the design of this page, you’ll need to use the Shopify Theme Editor:
Go to the “Sales channels” section in the left sidebar of the Shopify control panel and select the sales channel that you would like to customize.
Click on the “Customize” button next to the theme you’re currently using — this will open up the Shopify Theme Editor.
There’s a dropdown menu located near the top of the page that you can use to toggle between which template you’re editing. Navigate to the “Collections” section of this menu.
Here, you have three choices:
New collections automatically use the “Default collection” template. If you did not change this setting when you created your custom collection, any edits you make to this template will automatically be reflected on your “All Products” collection page.
Instead of editing the “Default collection” template, you could edit another one of your existing templates (on the settings page for your “All Products” collection, there’s a “Theme template” option that allows you to choose which template will be applied to the page).
Select “Create template” to design an entirely new template from scratch for your “All Products” collection page.
The exact customization options available in the Shopify Theme Editor will depend on which theme you’re using. But in general, you should be able to remove sections, add new sections, rearrange the order of sections, and adjust the display settings of individual sections (e.g., the “Product grid” section allows you to choose how many products are displayed per page).
For even more customization, you can make edits to your theme’s Shopify Liquid code:
As with accessing the Shopify Theme Editor, the first step to accessing your theme code is to go to the “Sales channels” section in the left sidebar of the Shopify control panel and select the sales channel you want to customize.
But this time, instead of clicking on the “Customize” button, open the dropdown menu located right next to it and select “Edit code” — this will open up Shopify’s code editor.
You can navigate through your theme files by using the search bar or manually looking through the different folders available in the left sidebar of the code editor. The files for your collection templates are located in the “Templates” folder.
Custom-coding your own template will give you much more control over the look and functionality of your “All Products” collection page. Of course, this will take some web development experience — but if you’re already familiar with HTML and CSS, you shouldn’t have much trouble at all, as Shopify Liquid is quite similar to these popular coding languages.

Editing the “All Products” Collection Page in Shogun
You can also use Shogun to edit your “All Products” collection page.
First, you’ll need to import this page from Shopify into Shogun:
After downloading and installing Shogun, select the “Apps” option in the left sidebar of the Shopify control panel.
Open Shogun.
Go to the “Pages” section of Shogun. Here, you’ll see two tabs: “Shogun” and “Shopify”.
Open the “Shopify” tab.
You can either use the search bar or the page type filter to navigate to the page you want to import. Once you’ve found it, click on the “Import page” button (it’s worth noting that the page Shopify automatically creates for all your products will not show up here — as with editing your “All Products” collection page with the Shopify Theme Editor, you’ll need to create a custom collection overwriting this automated page in order to import and edit it in Shogun).
Now that the page has been imported, you will be able to customize it in Shogun’s visual editor:
Go to the “Pages” section of the Shogun app and open the “Shogun” tab (all imported pages are listed here).
Select the “All Products” collection page that you just imported — this will open the page in Shogun’s visual editor.
The visual editor provides you with a wide variety of features that you can use to make your edits. Once you’re done, all you need to do is save your changes and publish the page.
The visual editor’s element library offers just about everything that you might think of adding to an ecommerce page. There are structural elements (columns, tables, slider menus, accordion menus, etc.), content elements (text, images, interactive maps, countdown clocks, etc.), elements that you can use to build your own custom forms, and more.
To add one of these elements to your collection page in the visual editor, drag it from the element library (which can be found in the left sidebar) to wherever you would like it to be located on the page. And to access an element’s customization settings and styling options, you just need to click on it once it has been added to the page.
Here are just a few ideas of how you could use Shogun’s element library to improve your “All Products” collection page:
Use the accordion menu element to quickly build an FAQ section at the bottom of your collection page. If the visitor is still at the stage of figuring out what you sell, there’s a good chance that they don’t know other basic details about your brand as well.
As an alternative to an FAQ section, you could use the video element to add an explainer about your brand and tell your story in a more visual way. Visitors tend to prefer watching videos over reading written content anyway.
Do you have a product launch or limited-time sale coming up? You can use the countdown clock element to promote these events on your collection page and help build more excitement.
And you can use the Shogun Insights feature to automate the task of finding ways to improve your “All Products” collection page — this option is also found in the left sidebar of the visual editor.
Shogun Insights will grade your page on the following four factors:
Accessibility: Is your text large enough to easily read? Are tappale elements like your navigation options and Add to Cart buttons large enough to easily click? Is there enough contrast between the color of your background and the color of your text? Such issues are especially important for visitors who have issues with their vision or dexterity.
Best Practices: Your “All Products” collection page will likely have a lot of images on it — this audit ensures that each image has an acceptable aspect ratio and doesn’t look squashed or squished.
Performance: If your collection page is slow, many visitors who might have become customers will just back out instead. The performance audit will check for the most common causes of sluggish page load times.
SEO: For your “All Products” collection page to lead to any sales, people must be able to discover it in the first place. With the SEO audit, you can find ways to help improve your position on search rankings and attract more traffic to the page.
A score of 100 means that no changes are needed. If the score is less than 100, Shogun will tell you exactly what needs to be done to improve the page. You’ll even see an “Update item” button that can direct you straight to the exact settings that need to be adjusted in order to improve your score.
With Shogun’s advanced editing capabilities and detailed analytics, you have everything you need to craft a perfect “All Products” collection page for your Shopify store.
